Hale Makai was designed by Soldano Luth Architects of Seattle Washington and built by Conrad Schmidt Construction of Kauai. This custom home with it's many subtle architectural details, fine craftsmanship and choice of materials draws you in, making it a difficult place to leave.

The design is simple and timeless with a contemporary Asian feel. The soaring living room ceiling and 60+ lineal feet of windows create an amazing sense of space while featuring and maintaining focus on the ocean. This home needs no artwork because the architecture, the ocean and the aina of Hawaii are the artwork. The fireplace enhances the ambiance in the fall and winter whether you're entertaining or just relaxing after sunset.

The entire floor plan was designed for view. Note the elevation change in the master bathroom. This was designed so there was an ocean view as one stood at either sink, sat in the tub or took a shower. This holds true in the guesthouse, which has the elevated sleeping area so the view could be captured.

The guesthouse( 2nd bedroom) was designed so that the owners could have many visitors and yet maintain their privacy.
